October Schedule now available

The OCTOBER ACTC schedule is now available. Highlights:

• NEW this month is Microsoft ACCESS, 11-1, October 26 and 28. A new instructor, Joanne Gerding, will be teaching this much requested class.
• Math Review: 11-1, October 8: many employers are requiring a math skills test prior to employment, this class is an opportunity to brush up on those skills.  
• Google Docs: 6-8, October 4 and 11-1 October 20: the newest method of sharing Office documents that you should know to give you an edge over other job applicants.
• Office 2007 Overview:  2-4, October 21: get a good sense of all Office products prior to taking individual classes.
• Absolutely Basics: 9-11 October 1, 11-1 October October 7: for those new to computers, or those who have a fear of computers, this is the class!
• Job Search 001: 6-8, October 29: Tips and Techniques for searching for a job online.
• Accounting 101, 9-11, October 12: If you have no previous experience with accounting, this class will give you the terms and vocabulary you need to succeed in Quick Books.

Please remember that the schedule is subject to changes/cancellations, so check the schedule prior to completing the ONLINE REGISTRATION.

Don't forget we will be CLOSED on Monday, October 11 in observance of Columbus Day.

Spring class schedule and registrations

The new schedule for mid-April through June will be out shortly. If there are classes you would like to see added, call 630-906-4248 and leave a message with that information.  There may be a delay in registering next week, but you can call and leave a message at 630-906-4248 with your name (spell it, please), phone number and class(es) you wish to join. Unless there is a strikethrough on the schedule, the classes should be open. If you can't get through by phone, you can register at the time of the class. A new, online registering option is in the works as well.

New Computers have Landed!

The new computers are installed at the ACTC, and they have both Office 2003 and 2007 installed. Instructors will be teaching using 2007 after spring break, but we will continue to have 2003 available.

New Schedules for January through June

Check out the new schedules for the new year. Just go to the left column, scroll down to 'ACTC Schedules' and click on the photo. Please note that the schedule is subject to change if there is insufficient enrollment. Several class times have a 'split' class, which means that we will run the class that has the first participants enrolled. Just call 630-906-4128 to register.

Please remember that we have many courses to help you build your skills to stay current in the workplace. In addition to basic computer, Internet and email training classes we also offer beginning and intermediate Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Quick Books Pro. Programs for your job search needs such as Job Preparedness, Resume Writing, or Job Search and specialty classes (digital photography, web site creation, social networking for business etc) round out our services. We want to help you succeed. ACTC Course Registration

You can check on the availability of ACTC classes by clicking on 'ACTC Schedule' in the left hand column under 'Additional ACTC Information'. Please check this list before calling 630-906-4248 to register for courses, as the course offerings may change. You are welcome to sign up for as many courses as you like, but if an emergency forces your plans to change, please call back and ask to be removed from the class list, and re-register for a later date.
